Benidorm Weather: When’s Best to Visit?

Benidorm has its own microclimate thanks to the mountains surrounding it. This means warmer winters and more bearable summers than many other places in Spain.

This guide will break down Benidorm’s weather for you month by month to help you plan the perfect time for your visit!

January in Benidorm

While the rest of Europe is freezing, Benidorm’s still enjoying plenty of winter sunshine. The city is quieter around this time of year, but you’ll find plenty of bars and restaurants open year-round, especially in the Benidorm Old Town.

  • 🌡️ Average high: 17°C (63°F)
  • 🌡️ Average low: 7°C (45°F)
  • 🌧️ Rainfall: 35mm over 4 days
  • 🌊 Sea temperature: 15°C (59°F)
  • ☀️ Daily sunshine: 6 hours

This is perfect weather for hiking up to the Cross of Benidorm or exploring the Serra Gelada Natural Park – you won’t overheat on the climbs!

While swimming isn’t recommended, both Levante and Poniente beaches are beautiful for winter walks, and you’ll often spot people sunbathing on the warmer days.

February in Benidorm

The winter sun continues! February’s still quiet but you’ll notice more visitors arriving, looking for some early spring warmth.

The Old Town really comes into its own now – you can explore the winding streets and enjoy long lunches on the restaurant terraces without the summer crowds.

It’s also perfect weather for exploring the local markets or taking the tram to nearby villages. The promenade along Poniente beach is particularly lovely for afternoon walks in the winter sunshine.

March in Benidorm

March is where the days get noticeably warmer, and you’ll start seeing more visitors around town, especially in the evenings.

The tapas alleyways in the Old Town are particularly atmospheric now without the summer crowds.

Evening walks along both promenades become more lively as restaurants and bars extend their opening hours. If you’re planning to hike the Serra Gelada, go early morning before it gets too warm!

June in Benidorm

The summer season is properly here! June brings consistently warm, sunny days and the start of Benidorm’s famous beach life. The town really starts buzzing but it’s not quite at peak season crowds yet.
