Fancy getting out on the water during your stay in Calpe? You’re in luck! I’ve put together this guide to all the amazing boat trips you can take from this stunning part of the Costa Blanca.

With Calpe’s impressive coastline, the iconic Peñon de Ifach rock formation, and crystal-clear Mediterranean waters, seeing this area from the sea gives you a whole new perspective that you simply can’t get on land. I’ve included a few of these trips in my things to do in Calpe list, which you should check out if you’re looking for experiences in the area.
Sunset cruise with sparkling wine

This has to be one of my favourite ways to end a day in Calpe! For £21.52, you’ll get to watch the sunset from the water with a glass of cava in hand.
They play relaxing music as you sail away from the port, and the views of Calpe’s skyline from the water are absolutely incredible. It’s particularly magical when the sun starts to set and the sky fills with colour.

This is perfect for:
- A romantic evening with your partner
- A relaxing end to a busy day of sightseeing
- Celebrating a special occasion
One-way Catamaran transfer between Calpe and Altea
Book your boat transfer through Get Your Guide
This is a fantastic way to travel between these two amazing towns without dealing with buses or taxis!
The catamaran has a nice shaded deck area, making it comfortable even on hot days. It’s not just about getting from A to B – the views along the Costa Blanca coastline are absolutely amazing.
At just £10.33 per person, it’s an affordable way to travel that gives you stunning views you simply won’t get from land. You can book one-way or both directions if you want to make a day trip of it.
Once you arrive in either Altea or Calpe, you’ll have all the time you want to wander the streets, visit the beaches, and try the local food at your own pace.
Catamaran tour with optional swim stop

The most budget-friendly option starts at just £12.91, but it still gives you an amazing experience out on the water.
This tour takes you right up close to the Peñon de Ifach (that massive rock that dominates Calpe’s skyline). It’s a brilliant photo opportunity that you simply can’t get from land!
The standard trip gives you amazing views of the city and coastline from the water. If you go for the swim stop option, you’ll get an extra hour of time to jump in and cool off in the crystal clear waters around the Peñon.

There’s a bar on board where you can buy drinks, so you can sit back with a cold one while soaking up the sunshine.
Sailing catamaran with lunch

For a proper day out on the water, this sailing trip is well worth the £47.35 price tag.
You’ll set off from Calpe port in the morning aboard a luxury catamaran with a professional crew. What I love about this trip is that they take you to secluded coves where you can have a swim away from the busy main beaches.
The crew will prepare lunch on board, and you’ll get to eat while taking in amazing views of the sea. There’s plenty of time for sunbathing or more swimming before heading back to port in the afternoon.
Motor catamaran with optional lunch and swimming

If you’re after something a bit more affordable, this motor catamaran trip starts at just £18.94 per person.
You’ll cruise along the Costa Blanca, seeing Calpe’s rocky coastline with its cliffs, caves and stunning beaches. The boat makes a stop at a gorgeous beach where you can take a refreshing dip in the Mediterranean.
If you choose the lunch option, the crew will prepare a typical Valencian meal for you while you’re swimming, which is then served on board.
When to take a boat trip in Calpe
The main season for boat trips runs from April through October, but the best months are:
- May and June: Warm but not too hot, smaller crowds
- July and August: Hottest weather, busiest time, book well ahead
- September and early October: Still warm sea temperatures, fewer tourists
Morning trips generally offer calmer waters (good if you’re worried about seasickness), while afternoon trips usually mean warmer water for swimming.
What to bring on your boat trip
- Sun cream: The sun is much stronger on the water due to reflection
- Hat and sunglasses: Essential for sun protection
- Towel: For drying off after swimming
- Water: Stay hydrated, especially on longer trips
- Camera: Waterproof if possible
- Small bag: Space is limited on most boats
- Cash: For drinks on board or tips
- Swimwear: For trips with swimming stops
- Water shoes: Useful for rocky entry points
Where to find your boat in Calpe

Most boat trips depart from Puerto Calpe (Port Calpe). This is at the base of the Peñon de Ifach and is where most larger boats depart from. There’s a car park nearby, but it gets very busy in summer.
Your booking confirmation will tell you the exact meeting point. I always recommend arriving 20-30 minutes early to find your boat without stress.
