Looking for fun things to do in Calpe? There are waterparks nearby where you can cool off during your holiday! They make for an amazing day out which is perfect for families, couples, or anyone wanting a fun day out in the sun!

I’ve put together this guide to help you find the best water parks near Calpe, with all the details you need to plan your visit.
There are two waterparks located near Calpe, in Benidorm:
- Aqualandia
- Aqua Natura
Aqualandia in Benidorm
Aqualandia is one of the biggest and most popular water parks in Spain, located in Benidorm.
For those staying in Calpe who want more excitement and adrenaline from their water park day out, Aqualandia won’t disappoint. It’s bigger, bolder, and packed with heart-stopping slides.
What makes it worth the trip from Calpe
This is the place to go if you’re after thrills! Aqualandia boasts some seriously impressive slides and attractions, including:
- The Big Bang (one of Europe’s highest water slides)
- Verti-Go (a near-vertical drop slide for the brave!)
- Rapids
- Black Hole (a dark tunnel slide)
- Zig-Zag
- Several swimming pools
- Children’s areas for smaller visitors
There’s such a good mix of attractions here for all ages and bravery levels. If you’re feeling daring, the Big Bang is an absolute must-try – the views from the top are amazing, and the rush as you slide down is unbeatable!
Visit Aqualandia if:
- You’re staying in Calpe with teenagers or adults
- You want the biggest, most thrilling slides
- You don’t mind larger crowds in exchange for more attractions
- You want a full day’s worth of water park action
Food and facilities
Both parks have plenty of places to eat and drink, though the food can be a bit expensive. You’re allowed to bring your own picnic to Aqualandia, which can save you some money if you’re visiting as a family.
There are lots of sun loungers available, but they do get taken quickly in high season, so it’s worth arriving early if you want a good spot.
Ticket prices and opening times
Tickets for Aqualandia start from around €28 for adults, with discounts available for children and seniors. The park is now open until 28th September 2025, operating from 10am to 7pm in peak season.
Getting there from Calpe
Aqualandia is approximately 23 kilometres from Calpe:
- By car: 25-minute drive south on the AP-7
- By public transport: Line 10 bus to Benidorm, then local bus or taxi (total journey around 1 hour)
From Calpe, I find the drive to Aqualandia slightly easier than to Aqua Natura, with more straightforward directions once you exit the motorway.
Aqua Natura in Benidorm
Aqua Natura is next to Terra Natura, making it a great option if you want to combine a water park visit with seeing animals at the zoo too (see my article on the zoos near Calpe).
What makes it worth the trip from Calpe
What I love about Aqua Natura compared to other water parks is its manageable size. Unlike massive parks where you spend half the day walking between attractions, here everything is within easy reach.
The park features:
- A wave pool that activates every 30 minutes
- Multi-lane racing slides where your whole family can compete
- A lazy river that circles part of the park
- A dedicated children’s water play zone with mini slides and splash features
Family tip: If you’re staying in Calpe with young children aged 3-8, this is definitely your best water park option. The queues are generally shorter than at bigger parks, and there are plenty of lifeguards keeping watch.
Visit Aqua Natura if:
- You’re staying in Calpe with children
- You want a more relaxed day out
- You’re interested in visiting the animal park too
- You prefer shorter queues and a less crowded experience
Combined with Terra Natura zoo
One unique aspect that makes the journey from Calpe worthwhile is that Aqua Natura sits right next to Terra Natura animal park. You can buy combined tickets that allow you to visit both in one day, giving you the morning for water fun and the afternoon for animals (or vice versa).
After trying both scheduling options, I’d recommend doing the water park first, then visiting the animals later when you’re already wet and don’t mind walking around in the afternoon heat.
Getting to Aqua Natura from Calpe
Aqua Natura sits about 25 kilometres from Calpe:
- By car: 25-30 minute drive via the AP-7 motorway
- By bus: Take the Line 10 to Benidorm (about 40 mins), then a local bus or 10-minute taxi
When driving from Calpe, I recommend leaving early (around 9am) to avoid traffic on the AP-7, which can build up in summer months.
Ticket prices and opening times
Currently, adult tickets start at €19 per person until the peak summer season kicks in. If you’re planning to visit Terra Natura animal park as well, the combined tickets will offer better value for your day out.
The park is now open for the summer season until mid-September, from 10am to 6pm, but these times can vary slightly depending on the season.
Getting to the water parks from Calpe
By car
The easiest way to reach either water park from Calpe is by car:
- To Aqua Natura: Follow the AP-7 motorway northbound towards Benidorm, then follow signs for Terra Natura. The drive takes about 25-30 minutes.
- To Aqualandia: Take the AP-7 motorway southbound towards Benidorm, then follow signs for Aqualandia/Mundomar. This drive is about 25 minutes.
By public transport
If you don’t have a car, you can:
- Take the bus from Calpe to Benidorm (Line 10)
- In Benidorm, take a local bus or Calpe taxi to the water park
- Take the Calpe tram to Benidorm
The total travel time by public transport is about an hour each way.
How far are water parks from Calpe?
Calpe itself doesn’t have its own water park, but there are some fantastic options just a short drive away:
- Aqua Natura: About 25 kilometres south of Calpe (roughly 25-30 minutes by car)
- Aqualandia: About 23 kilometres south of Calpe (roughly 25 minutes by car)
Both are easy to reach if you’ve hired a car for your holiday. If you haven’t, don’t worry – there are public transport options available too!
Tips for your water park visit
- Bring plenty of sun cream and reapply regularly (the Spanish sun is strong, and you’ll be exposed while queuing for slides)
- Take a towel and a change of clothes
- Wear flip flops or water shoes (the ground gets very hot!)
- Consider bringing your own food if you’re visiting Aqualandia
- Arrive early to get the best sun lounger spots and enjoy shorter queues
- If you’re visiting in July or August, be prepared for
A day at a water park is one of my favourite things to do during a summer holiday in Spain. There’s nothing better than cooling off on the slides after a few days of sunbathing on Calpe’s beaches!
