Denia Marina (Marina de Denia): A Visitor’s Guide

If you’re staying in or near Denia, the Marina de Denia is a must-visit spot during your stay. Marina de Denia sits on the eastern side of Denia, right where the town meets the Mediterranean. It’s a short walk from Denia’s town centre and Denia castle.

I’ve grown up wandering around this beautiful harbour area, it’s truly one of my favourite places in the area to visit. In this guide, I’ll tell you where to find the Denia Marina and what you can do when you visit.

Where is the Denia Marina?

The Marina de Denia sits on the eastern side of Denia, right where the town meets the Mediterranean. It’s about a 15-minute walk from Denia’s town centre and Denia castle.

If you’re staying in Denia, you can easily reach it on foot, but there’s also plenty of parking around the Marina if you’re coming by car.

The marina is situated between Denia’s main beaches – Las Marinas to the north and Las Rotas to the south – making it a perfect stop during a day of beach-hopping.

What you’ll find at Marina de Denia

The marina isn’t just a place to park boats – it’s a lovely area with gorgeous views of Denia, with plenty to see and do:

  • A modern harbour with hundreds of mooring berths
  • Shopping outlets and nautical shops
  • Bars and restaurants with sea views
  • Water sports facilities
  • Beautiful promenades for evening strolls

It’s the sort of place where you can spend hours just watching the boats come and go while sipping on a crisp glass of wine.

Eating and drinking

You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to food and drink at Marina de Denia.

Here are some of the standouts I recommend:

  • Bar BBQ Fuego – Perfect for grilled meats and seafood. I highly recommend the menu del dia, which comes with a starter, large main course and dessert for a great price.
  • Agua de Mar – A Mediterranean restaurant with fantastic seafood options
  • Mala Vida – Offering delicious cocktails (with Spanish measures of course) and views across the marina

Many of the restaurants have outdoor terraces right on the waterfront, so you can enjoy your meal while watching the yachts and fishing boats pass by.

Most places offer fresh local seafood such as Mala Vita, and prices tend to be a bit higher than in town – but the ambience and setting makes it worth those extra euros.

If you’re after something more casual, you can easily grab a drink at any of the restaurants without breaking the bank.

Activities at Marina de Denia

There’s more to do here than just eat and drink! The marina is a hub for water activities:

  • Nautica Marina Sport offers boat rentals if you fancy getting out on the water yourself
  • Diba Charters and Diba Fishing run fishing trips and boat excursions
  • Several companies offer sailing lessons for beginners
  • You can book dolphin watching trips that depart from the marina
  • SWANS MARINE offers yacht charters for the day

Even if you’re not interested in getting on a boat, the marina promenade makes for a lovely walk, with plenty of benches where you can sit and watch the world go by.

Best time to visit

I’d recommend visiting Marina de Denia in the late afternoon or early evening when the weather in Denia is at a pleasant temperature, the light is golden and the day’s heat has started to fade. It’s also when the restaurants and bars begin to fill up, creating a lively atmosphere.

If you’re visiting during summer (June-September), the marina comes alive in the evenings with locals and tourists taking their paseo (evening stroll).

During the winter months, it’s much quieter but still charming, and you’ll have more chance of grabbing a prime waterfront table at one of the restaurants.
